4) What is the prefered compiler now? I used to use Watcom 11.0 and I still have it. I also have Open Watcom 1.7 which is what I use now for my applications. If you want to use DDK sources and makefiles, you will have to go with a mix of the old Microsoft C 6.0 (however, that is freely available) and Watcom 1.7. For Watcom 1.7 as compared to Watcom 11.0 you will need to do some minor fixes in the devhlp.h header file (no big deal). The makefiles however can remain the same. (thx bart1234de)
5) http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/h-viewer.php?dir=/pub/os2/apps/pim&file=tmtrk112.zip This app creates a very tiny row of buttons floating on top of the screen which make it easy to use. Push a button and it will write an entry in a textfile that keeps track of the time until another button is pushed, or the app is closed. I have been using this for the past year and it is very easy and useful to see how you spend your time. The resulting sheets are fine for our purposes. They (can) look a bit like: Time Tracker report - 26-3-2009 to 26-3-2009 Date Duration Task description ---------- -------- ---------------- 26-03-2009 0:05 Anders:MIS inbox 26-03-2009 0:26 Anders:W&A mailing 26-03-2009 0:12 Anders:ecs acpi mgmt 26-03-2009 0:12 Anders:ifax brooktrout 26-03-2009 0:26 Anders:lunch 26-03-2009 0:28 Anders:ray meeting 26-03-2009 0:22 Anders:rss actie feed 26-03-2009 1:14 Anders:rss actiemail 26-03-2009 0:51 Anders:rss actiemailing 26-03-2009 0:02 Anders:wp rimage 26-03-2009 0:16 Mail 26-03-2009 0:11 Mail 26-03-2009 2:09 eComStation bugtracker bug:browsing 26-03-2009 0:11 eComStation bugtracker bug:browsing 26-03-2009 1:24 eComStation bugtracker bug:browsing ---------- -------- Total 8:29 ---------- -------- Of course, this will only work if your workstation is running (and running OS/2 or eCS :)
7) OS/2 API Trace allows you to trace the 16-bit and 32-bit OS/2 APIs used by any application running on any 32-bit version of OS/2 (2.0 or later) without requiring the application's source code or requiring the application to be recompiled/relinked. Simply enable the application for tracing and run it, and the OS/2 API calls (and optionally their parameters) made by the application are logged to a text file that is already formatted and in English. Tracing can also be customized, controlled, and summarized.

9) PMDLL is an OS/2 presentation manager program that shows you the complete tree of DLL's loaded by an OS/2 executable file or by a DLL (both 16 and 32 bit formats are supported).
